Become a Community Partner and make RIWD a special day for your organization!

On March 7, 2010, Rochester, NY will join the thousands of cities worldwide in celebration of International Women's Day. Last year RIWD's celebration at the Rochester Contemporary Art Center attracted nearly 600 attendees, much press and rave reviews.

In prior years, IWD was honored in Rochester with events including workshops on: women farm workers, disabilities, aging, & rebel women. How will Rochester mark the day in 2010?

With an extravaganza from 1:00-3:30 Sunday, March 7, at Good Luck Restaurant, 50 Anderson Street. Amidst ethnic cuisine, costumes, music and dance, a multi-cultural hat collection by Hat Horizons will be on view. Additional happenings include: Montessori songs, Goddess make-up, raffle, and a sacred hat art project. To assure that the RIWD celebration will be all it can be, we invite you, corporations, non-for-profit, grass roots, and neighborhood organizations, colleges and universities to join the fun in a community–wide collaboration.

Make the day your own!

This is our goal and our challenge to each partner. From craft markets to emails of appreciation to workshops, organizations create their own experience. RIWD Mission Statement: • To acknowledge our community as a global village • To create unity with women across borders. • To celebrate the beauty and contributions of women around the world. • To increase understanding of issues of concern to women. • To imagine and dream of our shared vibrant future.
